Sleep Sanitation is a mattress-only cleaning and sanitation service in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska. We use Italian Vapor Clean dry vapor steam, HEPA vacuuming and UV-C light treatment in your home, with no soaking and no detergents. The first mattress is $249 in any size.

Why a mattress specialist
Why does a mattress need a specialist?
Most mattress cleaning is an add-on from a carpet company, done with the same hot-water wand used on floors. A mattress can't drain that water. It sits in the foam.
We built Sleep Sanitation around the mattress alone: heat instead of soaking, time spent on the seams and edges where debris collects, and gloves, shoe booties and disinfected equipment on every job.
Low moisture
Dry vapor steam adds heat without soaking the foam. The bed stays unmade until it is dry to the touch, and we run a moisture check before we leave.

Top surface and all four side edges, with detail work on seams and quilting.
Clean entry
Technicians wear gloves and shoe booties, and equipment is disinfected between jobs.

What is mattress sanitation, and how is it different from cleaning or disinfection?

- A material inspection comes first: we read the law tag and check construction, fabric and stains before choosing the steam setting and pass speed. Seams, tufts, ridges and edges are steamed with low-moisture dry vapor steam, along with the top surface and all four sides. A HEPA vacuum lifts loosened debris, followed by UV-C light treatment. Enzymes are used for urine and organic odor. Organic cleaning methods are the default.
- Checks
- Every visit includes two checks: a moisture check after the job and the built-in bed mite sensor on the UV-C vacuum. The bed stays unmade until it is dry to the touch, and we run a moisture check before we leave.
- Optional
- 72-hour bedroom CO₂ testing is an optional service, booked on its own or added to a mattress visit. It's priced by quote, and it isn't a medical test.
- Records
- Every job is documented on an inspection form: the mattress materials, special care notes and any urine or odor observations.
- Hygiene
- Technicians wear gloves and shoe booties, and equipment is disinfected between jobs.
- Price
- $249 for the first mattress in any size. A surcharge applies only to severe or biohazard cases. Each additional full, queen or king mattress in the same visit is $199, each additional kids bed (twin or full) is $149, and underside or full-surface treatment is +$50–$75 per mattress. Is Sleep Sanitation the same as ordinary mattress cleaning?
No. Most mattress cleaning is a carpet company's add-on using hot-water extraction. We only work on mattresses, using low-moisture dry vapor steam from Italian Vapor Clean machines, detail work on seams and edges, HEPA vacuuming and UV-C light treatment.
How much does it cost?
The first mattress is $249 in any size. Each additional full, queen or king mattress in the same visit is $199, and each additional kids bed (twin or full) is $149. Normal stains, pet odor and ordinary urine accidents are included; underside treatment is +$50–$75 per mattress.
How do I book?
Call or text (402) 512-5658, or email info@sleepsanitation.com. Tell us your town and how many mattresses you have, and we'll confirm a time and your price. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm, and missed calls and texts are returned on weekends too.
Do you serve my city?
We serve the Omaha and Lincoln metros, including Elkhorn, Bennington, Valley, Waterloo, Gretna, Papillion and Ashland. If you're unsure, call or text and we'll confirm.
When can I make the bed again?
Once the mattress is dry to the touch. Dry vapor steam uses very little water, but the bed stays unmade until it feels dry, and we run a moisture check before we leave.
Do you treat bed bugs?
No. Bed bugs need a licensed pest control professional. We focus on cleaning and sanitizing the mattress, including reducing bed mite debris, and can reset a bed once pest treatment is complete.
Why do you call it sanitization instead of cleaning?
Because “cleaning” is broad and easy to confuse with carpet or upholstery service. Sanitization, as we use it, means a structured, repeatable protocol for the whole sleep surface. It isn't sterilization or a medical treatment.
