Know your DUX bed
DUXIANA describes three parts in its care instructions for DUX beds and its Pascal system page:
- The DUX spring system. Interconnected steel coils in the base.
- The Pascal layer (on Pascal models). "3 interchangeable cassettes per side of the different tension springs," held in place by a "100% cotton carrier."
- The top pad. DUXIANA says the Xupport top pad has "a center of soft latex, and with an outer layer of deep tufted polyester fiber wadding," covered with woven cotton ticking.
What DUXIANA says about cleaning
- Top pad: spot clean only. "The Xupport is not suitable for either washing or dry-cleaning but can be spot-cleaned."
- Pascal cover: "The cover, without latex, can be dry cleaned. However as the cover is made of cotton it may shrink up to 6% upon the first clean."
- Turn the top pad. DUXIANA recommends turning it "regularly both from the head end to the foot end as well as from side to side."
A spot-clean-only top pad with a latex core is exactly where low moisture pays off. A wet extraction machine would push water into the latex. Our method doesn't.
How we clean a DUX bed
- HEPA vacuum the top pad, both faces and the tufted surface, where skin flakes settle.
- Dry vapor steam in light, moving passes over the cotton ticking, so nothing is soaked.
- Spot treatment where needed, applied sparingly and blotted.
- Second HEPA pass, then we help you turn the top pad the way DUXIANA recommends.
Your Pascal cassettes stay exactly where you set them.
Other European luxury beds we clean
DUX owners often compare notes with Hästens and Vispring owners. Each gets its own material-specific approach.
