Helix makes hybrid beds in a wide range of firmness levels, all under a cover that stays on. Helix's own support team says the cover can be spot-cleaned on every model and shouldn't be removed. We clean it exactly that way.

Helix's support article on cleaning the cover is direct: "Yes, you can spot-clean the cover on all Helix mattress models. The mattress cover should not be removed from your mattress."

How we clean it

HEPA vacuum with the cover on. Top panel, borders and seams.
Dry vapor steam in low-moisture passes. Heat reaches the cover and the layer just below it without soaking what's underneath.
Spot treatment where you need it. Enzyme product applied sparingly and blotted, never poured.
HEPA vacuum again. A second pass lifts what the heat loosened.
