How an Eight Sleep setup works
The Pod uses a thin cover with water channels running through it. The Hub, which sits beside the bed, heats or cools water and circulates it through the cover to set each side's temperature. Some owners have the full Pod mattress, and others add the Pod cover to a mattress they already own. Either way there's water, tubing and electronics in the bed.
How we adapt
- Power off first. The Hub should be off before we start. We confirm this on arrival.
- No moisture near connections. The area where tubing connects to the cover and runs to the Hub stays dry. We don't steam it.
- Surface-only, low moisture. Dry vapor steam goes over the sleep surface in steady passes at a controlled distance, then the surface is finished with the UV-C vacuum.
- Option to go under. If you'd like the mattress beneath a Pod cover sanitized, remove the cover as Eight Sleep directs, and we'll treat the mattress directly.
Why sensitive tech needs low moisture
A hot-water extraction machine is the wrong tool anywhere near electronics. Our method adds heat with very little water, which is why it suits beds like this.
After the visit
Let the surface air out until it feels dry before powering the Hub back on and making the bed. If anything about your setup is unusual, mention it when you book.
