Know your Saatva
- Saatva Classic. A coil-on-coil innerspring with a euro pillow top and an organic cotton cover. It's the model we see most often.
- Memory foam models. Denser foam layers that need the same low-moisture care as any memory foam mattress.
- Latex models. Natural latex is springy and breathable, but it shouldn't be soaked.
- Adjustable air models. Air chambers under comfort layers, handled like other air beds, with electronics kept dry.
We read the law tag before we start to confirm the model and fill materials.
What does Saatva's care guidance say?
Saatva's blog post on cleaning a mattress gives a "Bonus tip: If you have a garment steam cleaner, go over your mattress with that before vacuuming." It doesn't mention dry vapor steam or set a heat limit, and it warns that bleach can stain or damage memory foam. Our adjustable-output method is our own decision, not a Saatva exemption, so check your warranty terms. See our Saatva compatibility guide.
The euro pillow top
A euro top is sewn flush to the border rather than sitting on top like a traditional pillow top, which gives it a clean edge. That seam line and the quilting pattern across the top are where we spend the most time.
Why low moisture fits Saatva
Many Saatva owners chose the brand partly for its natural and organic materials. Our standard service doesn't add detergents or fragrances. It uses dry vapor steam and HEPA vacuuming and UV-C light treatment, with enzyme products only where you choose a stain add-on.
Care tips
Rotate the mattress as recommended for your model, keep a breathable protector on it, and air the bed out on dry days with the sheets pulled back.
