Who we work with
Home care and home health agencies, hospice teams, care managers and the families they support, in Omaha, Lincoln and surrounding towns.
Why the mattress matters
A client in home-based care may spend most of the day on one mattress. Urine and other body fluids that reach the foam are the usual source of lingering odor, and a damp or soiled mattress affects comfort and dignity. Our hub for care providers explains more.
Why dry vapor steam
Carpet-style wet extraction puts water and detergent into foam that dries slowly. Dry vapor steam uses high heat and very little water, so the bed goes back into use sooner. See dry vapor steam vs wet extraction in a patient's home.
What every visit includes
- Enzyme treatment on urine and other biological soiling
- Low-moisture dry vapor steam on the sleep surface and sides
- HEPA vacuuming and UV-C light treatment
- A bed mite sensor reading from our JIGOO UV-C mattress vacuum
- A moisture check before we leave
- An service summary you can keep with the client's records, with the family's permission
An optional, quote-priced 72-hour bedroom CO2 test is available.
What we service, and what we don't
- Yes: foam, innerspring and hybrid mattresses, and vinyl or coated hospital-bed mattresses (after checking the maker's instructions).
- No: powered air, low-air-loss and alternating-pressure mattresses. See why, and what to do instead.
- After a death at home: yes, when there was no decomposition or hazmat issue, at our usual price. Decomposition and hazmat cases go to a biohazard remediation company.
- Severe or biohazard soiling: a surcharge applies, and we tell you the amount before any work starts.
How ordering works
- Call, text or email. (402) 512-5658 or info@sleepsanitation.com. Tell us the client's town, the mattress type, and anything we should know (oxygen, breathing sensitivities, enzyme allergy).
- We schedule around care. Usually alongside an aide visit or bath time. We can work with a bedbound client in the room; an aide or family member handles transfers.
- The agency or the family pays, whoever arranged the visit.
- You get the service summary after the visit, with the family's permission.
Agency rates
Agencies that work with us on route efficiency, grouping clients by area so we can schedule them together, qualify for a reduced agency rate. Ask about agency rates when you call.
Paying for it
We don't bill insurance, Medicare or Medicaid, and we aren't enrolled in any government program. Some hospice agencies pay for services that help keep a patient's home safe and sanitary, and some VA Veteran-Directed Care budgets can be used for services. See who pays for in-home mattress sanitation for the honest picture.
Trust and safety
We carry a certificate of insurance, available on request. We run background checks under our hiring policy, including a national sex offender registry check. We clean and sanitize; we don't make disinfection or medical claims.
