Elkhorn is part of the City of Omaha now, but it still runs on its own rhythm: school pickups, practices, and full houses on weekends. Mattress care has to fit into that, which is why most Elkhorn appointments cover every bed in the home at once.

Pet odor treatment and ordinary urine accident treatment are included, so the bed the dog sleeps on and a younger child's mattress cost the same as any other. Underside treatment (+$50–$75 per mattress) is only added where it's needed.
Kids' beds get the hardest use
Children's mattresses see spills, accidents, sick days, snacks and stuffed animals, often in the first few years of the mattress's life. Hot-water extraction can leave a thick twin damp for a long time. Our dry vapor steam uses very little water. The bed stays unmade until it is dry to the touch, and we run a moisture check before we leave.
The basement guest room
Many Elkhorn homes have a finished lower level with a guest bedroom. Below-grade rooms tend to run cooler and more humid, and a guest mattress can sit unused for months. That's a good setup for bed mites and a musty smell. A yearly reset before holiday guests, plus a dehumidifier in summer, keeps that room guest-ready.
One visit, start to finish
- Strip the beds, and point us to the first one.
- We set up once and move room to room. Technicians wear gloves and shoe booties, and equipment is disinfected between jobs.
- Each mattress gets inspection, dry vapor steam on the top and sides, and HEPA vacuuming and UV-C light treatment.
- We run a moisture check on each mattress. Crack a window or run a fan, and keep each bed unmade until it is dry to the touch.
