Mattress sanitation for home care and hospice providers

This hub is for home care, home health and hospice teams in Omaha, Lincoln and surrounding towns. It covers why the mattress matters in home-based care, why low-moisture dry vapor steam beats wet extraction in a client's home, what a vendor can honestly claim, reusing a bed, cleaning after a death at home, surcharges and referrals, the service summary, hospice plans of care, scheduling and fragrance-free odor control.

Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm. Missed a call? We return calls and texts on Saturday and Sunday too.

Short answer

In home-based care the mattress is part of the care environment. Low-moisture dry vapor steam gets it clean and back in use quickly without soaking the foam. We clean and sanitize, make no disinfection claims, document each visit on a service summary, service vinyl hospital-bed mattresses but not powered air mattresses, and refer decomposition or hazmat cases to biohazard remediation companies.

In home-based care, the mattress is often where a client spends most of the day. This hub gives care teams a straightforward, honest picture of what professional mattress sanitation does, what it doesn't, and how to work with us.

Why and how

Why mattress hygiene matters covers federal hospice language on a safe and sanitary environment. Dry vapor steam vs wet extraction explains the method. Odor without fragrance links to our enzyme science hub, accidents hub and bedroom CO2 hub.

Honest claims and records

Cleaning vs sanitizing vs disinfecting helps you vet any vendor. The service summary shows what we record.

Hard situations

Between clients, after a death at home, and severe soiling and biohazard. Our stain chemistry hub covers blood and vomit.

Sleep Sanitation's position

This section is our view. Agencies that group visits with us for route efficiency can ask about agency rates. We carry a certificate of insurance, available on request, and run background checks under our hiring policy, including a national sex offender registry check. Sleep Sanitation serves Omaha, Lincoln and surrounding towns. Every visit includes dry vapor steam, HEPA vacuuming, UV-C light treatment, the built-in bed mite sensor on our JIGOO UV-C mattress vacuum and a moisture check before we leave. Enzyme treatment is used on urine and other biological jobs, and ordinary accident treatment is included in the $249 first-mattress price. Severe or biohazard contamination carries a surcharge, and we tell you before any work starts. Call or text (402) 512-5658, or email info@sleepsanitation.com.
