Short answer
Aireloom's product care guide doesn't mention steam, water or cleaning products. It says to vacuum 'At least twice a year,' to 'always use a mattress protector,' and to air the bed so sunlight 'helps to dry out any moisture that may be lingering inside the mattress.' Our dry-vapor method is our own, not an Aireloom exemption, so check your warranty terms before booking.
Key terms used on this page
- Care instructions (manufacturer care guidance):
- What a manufacturer publishes about cleaning its product: a sewn-in label, a care web page, a help-center article or a brand blog post. They carry different weight. A sewn-in label or a product-care page speaks for a specific product; a blog post often gives general advice about many mattress types. On this hub we name the document type for every quote.
- Innerspring mattress:
- A mattress whose support core is a unit of steel coils, with comparatively thin comfort layers and a quilted top. The coil core is open to airflow, which is one reason general cleaning guides treat innerspring beds as more tolerant of moisture than solid-foam beds.
- Pillow-top and Euro-top:
- An extra padded layer sewn onto the top of a mattress. On a pillow-top it is stitched on as a separate pillow-like layer; on a Euro-top it is sewn flush with the sides. The padding is usually fiber, foam or both, and it sits directly under the cleaning surface.
- Dry-vapor steam:
- Steam made in a sealed, pressurized boiler and released through a hose and nozzle as hot vapor with a low liquid-water content. In the vendor specifications we reviewed, professional units are rated from 80 psi (Ladybug 2350) to 150 psi (Daimer), with stated boiler temperatures from about 345°F (Optima) to 360°F (Daimer); these are maker claims. Daimer describes its steam as about 5% water or less and Vapor Clean claims 'just 5-6% moisture'; that is a vendor claim, not an independent standard.
- Adjustable steam output:
- A control on some commercial steam machines that sets how much steam reaches the tool. For example, Vapor Clean describes its Magnum XP (with vac) as having a 'Fully Adjustable Steam Regulator' and a 'Pressure Regulator 0 - Full Range' (maker's claims). We don't publish settings; the technician chooses them for the material.
- Pass speed:
- How fast the steam tool moves across the fabric. A faster pass gives the fabric less time under the tool, so less heat and less condensed water reach any one spot. Purple's general guide makes the same point for home steamers: move 'without leaving it in one spot for too long.'
Aireloom makes hand-built luxury coil mattresses. Its care guide is about support, rotation and keeping the bed fresh, not about stain removal. It doesn't mention steam, water amounts or cleaning products. It does talk about moisture, and we quote that in full.

1. What the manufacturer actually says
The source is Aireloom's Product Care Guide (no date shown; accessed 2 October 2026).
It covers Aireloom mattresses generally.
On cleaning:
"Clean your mattress regularly so that it always looks, feels and smells its best. At least twice a year, go over your mattress with a vacuum to get rid of dust, crumbs and dust mites. It’s not just good for the mattress – it can help reduce allergens as well."
On protection:
"Make sure to always use a mattress protector in order to preserve your mattress for the long term. Using this simple layer of protection from the beginning will help keep dirt, dust, spills and bugs out of your bed."
On moisture and sunlight:
"Sunlight is a natural cleanser and dehumidifier. Opening the window and stripping the linens of not only helps to reduce the number of dust mites but also helps to dry out any moisture that may be lingering inside the mattress."
On storage:
"When transporting or storing your mattress, be sure to seal it with a heavy duty bag, to help protect it from moisture, dust, scuffs and scratches."
2. Does it mention steam?
No. The guide doesn't mention steam. It doesn't give any spot-cleaning method either. Its moisture advice is about drying the mattress out with air and sunlight, and protecting it from moisture in storage.
3. Does it mention dry-vapor steam?
No. Aireloom's page never names dry-vapor steam. It sets no water, heat or chemical limits either.
4. The restrictions it states
| Variable | What Aireloom's page says |
|---|---|
| Water | Not stated |
| Soaking | Not stated; the guide advises drying out "any moisture that may be lingering inside the mattress" |
| Heat | Not stated |
| Steam | Not stated |
| Chemicals | Not stated |
| Covers | Not stated; a protector "always" |
Aireloom's guide is honest about what it is: a care routine, not a cleaning procedure. We found no official Aireloom spot-cleaning instructions on the page we quote.
Every brand's restrictions sit side by side in the compatibility guide.
5. How dry vapor differs from wet cleaning
Aireloom treats moisture inside the mattress as something to dry out, which is the same concern behind every low-moisture method.
Dry vapor leaves far less water than carpet-style extraction, but heat and moisture are separate variables.
Vapor Clean claims the Magnum XP runs at "just 5-6% moisture" (maker's claim, not our measurement).
The EPA advises drying wet materials within 24 to 48 hours; the hub's drying note explains why.
6. Sleep Sanitation's professional interpretation
This section is our view, not Aireloom's.
Aireloom's guidance is the default for owners: vacuuming at least twice a year, a protector at all times, regular sheet changes, and airing the bed in daylight to dry out moisture.
Our position: we can sanitize Aireloom mattresses (the CDC's sense, not disinfection). Aireloom names moisture inside the mattress as something to dry out, so on an Aireloom we keep passes quick and leave time for the bed to air before it is made up.
We run three Italian-made Vapor Clean machines, the Magnum XP, ProV 350 and Pro6 Duo, at low steam output.
Passes stay quick and light. We don't unzip covers, soak the bed, or use bleach or solvents.
This is our method, not a Aireloom exemption, and Aireloom hasn't reviewed it. Check your warranty terms before booking.
We haven't found Aireloom warranty language about cleaning on the page we quote; the warranty is a separate document.
Not legal advice; if you're unsure, ask the manufacturer.
Aireloom's own cleaning routine
- Vacuum. "At least twice a year."
- Protector. "always use a mattress protector."
- Sheets. Wash them regularly.
- Air and light. Open the window and strip the linens to dry out moisture.
Other care points on Aireloom's page
On rotation:
"Every few months, rotate your mattress 180 degrees from head to foot."
On handling:
"The Aireloom mattress can be “flexed” to allow the mattress to fit through doorways, but do not fold, curl, or bend a mattress."
On sheets:
"Washing your sheets regularly will help reduce the damage and premature aging this residue can cause."
On foundations:
"Don't use a worn-out base that can't maintain the proper shape and support your mattress, as this can shorten the life of your bed."
Before a visit to a Aireloom bed
Aireloom's guide is about rotation, foundations and clean sheets; it gives no stain method. With no written cleaning limit to follow, our technician reads the law label for the comfort materials and sets output for the most delicate one listed.
The guide's point about body residue in sheets is the practical one: washed bedding means less soil reaches the mattress between professional visits.
Aireloom also warns against folding or bending a mattress. If you move the bed for a visit, keep it flat; our technician cleans it where it stands and does not need it moved.
Aireloom also asks owners not to use a worn-out base. While the bed is bare for a visit, check the foundation for sagging or broken slats.
Common misreadings
"Sunlight is a cleaner, so heat is fine." The guide recommends airing in daylight. It says nothing about steam or any other heat source.
"Not mentioned means permitted." No. Aireloom doesn't mention steam either way. Silence is a gap in the guidance, not a permission.
How Aireloom compares with the other brands we checked
Aireloom is not among the five brands whose care pages mention steam. None of the 21 pages we checked mentions dry vapor.
Aireloom's page addresses none of the six variables in section 4; it is silent on water, soaking, heat, steam, chemicals and covers.
It says nothing about water, which puts it among the thinnest pages we read.
The compatibility guide lines up all 21 pages, from Tempur-Pedic's strict water rule to the brands that tie care to warranty.
Your label and warranty
Your sewn-in label speaks for your model and outranks Aireloom's web page. Use the hub's label checklist before any cleaning.
