Short answer
Check the label, wash a removable cover if allowed, vacuum the futon, flip and rotate it, and spot clean with a barely damp cloth. Futons double as couches, so they collect crumbs, pet hair and spills. Add the futon to the same visit as your main bed.

HEPA vacuuming, enzyme treatment for organic odor, dry vapor steam and UV-C. We recommend cleaning twice a year.
A futon is a couch all day and a bed some nights, so it collects twice the crumbs, spills and pet hair.
Routine care
- Read the tag. Wash the cover only if it says removable and washable (can you wash a mattress cover).
- Vacuum both sides and the folds.
- Flip and rotate it so it wears evenly.
- Spot clean lightly. Futon cotton and foam hold water, so never soak them.
