Short answer
Vacuum the quilting and the seam where the pillow top joins the mattress, blot spills straight away and spot clean lightly. The thick padding soaks up liquid, so don't soak it. For accidents and odor, a low-moisture professional clean with enzyme treatment is the reset.

HEPA vacuuming, enzyme treatment for organic odor, dry vapor steam and UV-C. We recommend cleaning twice a year.
A pillow top is an extra padded layer sewn on top of the mattress. A Euro top is sewn flush with the edges. Either way, the quilting and that seam trap dust and spills.
Routine care
- Vacuum the quilting slowly. Go along the stitch lines and the pillow-top seam.
- Blot, then spot clean with a barely damp cloth.
- Don't flip it. Most pillow tops are one-sided. Store it flat (Saatva's storage guide says to store pillow tops flat).
Accidents on a pillow top
The padding takes liquid fast. Blot, then book an enzyme treatment so the odor is broken down rather than covered up.
