Short answer
We clean vinyl and coated hospital-bed mattresses where they are, in the client's home. The mattress doesn't leave, so there's no pickup, no second trip and no stretch without a bed. Plan 1–2 hours per mattress, with an aide or family member handling the transfer.

Key terms used on this page
- Coated cover:
- A vinyl or polyurethane-coated fabric cover on a hospital-bed mattress, meant to keep fluids out of the foam.
- Grouped scheduling:
- An agency sending several clients in the same area so visits run on an efficient route. Qualifies for our agency rate.
In-home service
The mattress stays put
- One visit, 1–2 hours per mattress
- No hauling through the home
- Service Summary left with the family
Sending it out
The mattress leaves
- Pickup and return trips
- Time without the mattress
- Handling through hallways and doors
When a hospital-bed mattress needs cleaning, the choice is to bring the service to the home or take the mattress somewhere else. We bring it to the home.
Why in-home
- The mattress stays put. No hauling a mattress through a client's hallway or into a truck.
- One trip. No pickup and return, so there's one visit to plan around.
- The family sees the work. And gets the Service Summary.
What the family needs to do
- Arrange for an aide or family member to move the client before we start. We don't move people.
- Strip the bed. We remove the protector and leave a one-time supply of special detergent sheets for washing it.
- Tell us about oxygen in use, breathing sensitivities or an enzyme allergy at booking.
What we use
Low-moisture dry vapor steam, so the foam doesn't soak. We verify the surface at 212°F or higher, steam the top surface and all four sides, and keep steam away from zippers and electrical parts. Underside treatment is an add-on at +$50–$75 per mattress.
Sleep Sanitation's view
This section is our view. Agencies that group visits by area are route-efficiency partners and get reduced agency rates: request agency rates. We carry a certificate of insurance, available on request, and run background checks under our hiring policy, including a national sex offender registry check. Sleep Sanitation serves Omaha, Lincoln and surrounding towns. Every visit includes dry vapor steam with the mattress surface verified at 212°F or higher with a temperature gun, HEPA vacuuming, UV-C light treatment and a moisture check before we leave. Allow 1–2 hours per mattress. Our technician removes the mattress protector during the visit and leaves a one-time supply of special detergent sheets for washing it. Enzyme treatment is used on urine. Every visit ends with a Service Summary, and a copy can go to the agency with the client's or family's permission. The first mattress is $199 Fall 2026 special (regularly $249); additional mattresses in the same visit are $199 for a king or California king, $179 for a full or queen and $149 for a twin or kids bed. Severe soiling carries a surcharge, disclosed before any work starts. Call or text (402) 512-5658, or email info@sleepsanitation.com.
