Short answer
Agencies add mattress sanitation in two ways: as a referral they hand to families, or as a service they book and pay for. Good moments to offer it are before a homecoming, after a long stretch in bed, and on a twice-a-year routine. We handle the visit and send a Service Summary.

Key terms used on this page
- Route-efficiency partner:
- An agency or supplier that sends visits we can group by area. Partners get reduced agency rates, quoted on request.
- Agency-paid visit:
- A visit the agency books and pays for, as opposed to a family-paid visit the family books itself. The visit itself is the same either way.
Agencies already help clients with the home around them. A clean, sanitized mattress fits alongside that.
Two ways to offer it
- Referral. Give families our number and our care providers PDF. They book and pay.
- Agency-paid. Your agency books the visit. Route-efficiency partners get reduced rates.
When to offer it
- Before a client comes home from a hospital or rehab stay. See preparing the bed after a hospital stay.
- After an accident or a long stretch in bed
- After a death at home, for the family. See cleaning after a death at home.
- On a routine: we recommend cleaning twice a year, and for long-term hospital-bed placements too. See twice a year in home care.
What your staff can say
"We work with a mattress sanitation company. They use low-moisture dry vapor steam, check that the surface reaches 212°F or higher, and leave a Service Summary. A visit takes about one to two hours per mattress."
Sleep Sanitation's view
This section is our view. Agencies that group visits by area are route-efficiency partners and get reduced agency rates: request agency rates. We carry a certificate of insurance, available on request, and run background checks under our hiring policy, including a national sex offender registry check. Sleep Sanitation serves Omaha, Lincoln and surrounding towns. Every visit includes dry vapor steam with the mattress surface verified at 212°F or higher with a temperature gun, HEPA vacuuming, UV-C light treatment and a moisture check before we leave. Allow 1–2 hours per mattress. Our technician removes the mattress protector during the visit and leaves a one-time supply of special detergent sheets for washing it. Enzyme treatment is used on urine. Every visit ends with a Service Summary, and a copy can go to the agency with the client's or family's permission. The first mattress is $199 Fall 2026 special (regularly $249); additional mattresses in the same visit are $199 for a king or California king, $179 for a full or queen and $149 for a twin or kids bed. Severe soiling carries a surcharge, disclosed before any work starts. Call or text (402) 512-5658, or email info@sleepsanitation.com.
