Short answer
Scrape off what you can, spot test, then dab sparingly with nail polish remover on a cotton pad, working from the outside in. Use as little as possible, because remover can damage some fabrics. Then blot with a barely damp cloth. Stains are included in our cleaning.

HEPA vacuuming, enzyme treatment for organic odor, dry vapor steam and UV-C. We recommend cleaning twice a year.
Nail polish is a pigment in a film-forming lacquer. Once dry it sits on the fibers like a coating.
What to do right away
- Scrape gently with a dull edge to lift any thick or dried polish.
- Spot test remover on a hidden area of the cover.
- Dab sparingly with a cotton pad, outside in.
- Keep it light. Work with a barely damp cloth; never pour liquid on a mattress.
What not to do
Don't pour remover on the mattress or rub the polish deeper into the ticking. For the general rules, see DIY mattress cleaning mistakes and the stain chemistry hub.
