Hospice social workers: a resource to share with families

By Matthew Brunken · Updated October 27, 2026 · 2 min read · Editorial standards

Short answer

Social workers can share our number with families at any point: before a homecoming, during long-term care at home, or after a death. Families book directly at our published prices, or the agency can arrange visits. Our one-page agency PDF is available to hand out.

Key terms used on this page

Care transition:
A move between care settings, such as coming home from a hospital, rehab or nursing home stay, or moving into assisted living.
Agency-paid visit:
A visit the agency books and pays for, as opposed to a family-paid visit the family books itself. The visit itself is the same either way.

Social workers are often the person a family asks, "Who do we call for this?" Here's a short summary you can pass along.

Sleep Sanitation's view

This section is our view. Agencies that group visits by area are route-efficiency partners and get reduced agency rates: request agency rates. We carry a certificate of insurance, available on request, and run background checks under our hiring policy, including a national sex offender registry check. Sleep Sanitation serves Omaha, Lincoln and surrounding towns. Every visit includes dry vapor steam with the mattress surface verified at 212°F or higher with a temperature gun, HEPA vacuuming, UV-C light treatment and a moisture check before we leave. Allow 1–2 hours per mattress. Our technician removes the mattress protector during the visit and leaves a one-time supply of special detergent sheets for washing it. Enzyme treatment is used on urine. Every visit ends with a Service Summary, and a copy can go to the agency with the client's or family's permission. The first mattress is $199 Fall 2026 special (regularly $249); additional mattresses in the same visit are $199 for a king or California king, $179 for a full or queen and $149 for a twin or kids bed. Severe soiling carries a surcharge, disclosed before any work starts. Call or text (402) 512-5658, or email info@sleepsanitation.com.
